See the title. What do you like about anime, and what do you look for in an anime?

About:

Well, when you watch the correct ones, you can get a great taste of Japanese culture. Although a lot of shows are butchered by dubbing companies *cough*4Kids*cough*, sometimes you can find one that hasn't been as affected. A good example would be Spirited Away. There's a lot of Japan in this, they didn't try to americanize it at all. Disney did a very good job of keeping it almost the same.

In:
I tend to like animes with a more serious touch, ones with mythology or similar in them. In the case of my current favorite, Higurashi, I like the second or third episodes in the 4-episode arcs - the first is always too silly, the last is always too creepy. For me.

That being said, I also seem to like characters that make as little sense as possible. Realism isn't always what I want.

About:

I like anime because of the way it sucks me into a new world. It could be in the middle of a war, or maybe in a moving castle, a pirate ship or on an adventure egypt, I always liked anime for this sole reason. Also the art style. I just love the art so much. It has also taught me about it's culture, and get's me interested in learning more about it. Also, the girls in anime, they're just... *Drool.*

In:

I like animes that are based around the occult or are having to do with reasoning or with humanity. A perfect example would be Tsukihime. I love how it's based around vampires, and it seems like something that could happen in real life.

On those I like:

1. The overall story.
2. The character personalities. A series may have a horrible artwork, but it can defend itself by having awesome character development.
3. The artwork. As long as it doesn't go too far into Fanservice, I will like it.

Agreeable.

1. The basics.
2. What good is a really good-looking anime if the characters aren't even interesting?
3. Fanservice is good once in a while if presented mildly. But too much of this can turn us off and they're outta here.

about:
Cartoons with emotions, realism and big breasts FTW.

in:
anything with schoolgirls(and preferably catgirls) will suffice for me.
